At Long Island Pepper Company, we take immense pride in the quality and safety of our small-batch sauces. Because our products are food items , we do not accept returns of opened or unopened bottles to maintain food safety standards. However, if your order meets the verifiable criteria below, we will issue a replacement or a refund.

Product Quality & Integrity Guarantee

We offer refunds or replacements for products that do not meet our standards for safety and quality. A refund request is considered valid under the following verifiable conditions:

  • Seal Integrity: The safety seal was broken, loose, or tampered with prior to delivery.
  • Significant Batch Defect: The product exhibits objective signs of spoilage (e.g., mold or unusual fermentation/gas buildup) or contains visible foreign debris.
  • Consistency Issues: There is a significant, objective deviation in texture compared to standard batch specifications (e.g., the sauce is entirely separated or watery despite thorough shaking).
  • Label Inaccuracy: The ingredients or nutritional facts on the physical bottle do not match the product description at the time of purchase.
Exclusions: Refunds will not be issued for subjective preferences, including heat level (too hot/not hot enough), flavor profile, or minor variations in color that occur naturally in small-batch agricultural products.

Damaged, Leaking, or Defective Items

If your order arrives damaged or leaking due to shipping transit, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.
To process these claims, we require:

  • Clear photos of the damaged item(s).
  • Photos of the shipping box and packing materials (to file a claim with the carrier).

Wrong Item or Missing Item

If you received the incorrect product or an item is missing from your shipment, contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will:

  • Ship the missing/correct item at no cost, or
  • Refund the price of the incorrect/missing item.

Returns & Food Handling

For the protection of all our customers, we cannot restock or resell food products once they have left our facility.

  • Opened bottles: Cannot be returned or refunded unless a quality defect (Section 1) is verified.
  • Unopened bottles: Are not eligible for return due to food safety chain-of-custody protocols.

Refund Method and Timing

  • Refunds are issued only to the original payment method.
  • Once a claim is verified and approved, refunds are processed within 3–10 business days, depending on your financial institution.
  • Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the refund is due to a Long Island Pepper Company error (e.g., wrong item sent or defective product).
