What to Put Fruit Hot Sauce On
Pancakes, pizza, the grill, a margarita, even vanilla ice cream. Ideas from the people at our tasting table, sorted by meal and by sauce.
Breakfast
- Eggs and breakfast sandwiches: Peach Basil Bourbon or Mango Ghost Pepper.
- Pancakes and waffles: a drizzle of Blueberry Carolina Reaper.
Lunch
- Stir a spoonful into mayo for sandwiches and burgers.
- Whisk Blueberry Carolina Reaper with olive oil and lemon for a vinaigrette, then add goat cheese or feta.
- Rice bowls and fish tacos: Pineapple Mango Habanero.
Dinner
- On the grill: baste chicken, pork or shrimp near the end. The fruit sugars caramelize like a barbecue sauce.
- Pizza and pasta: Peach Basil Bourbon, or use it in place of pesto.
- Chili and wings: Dragon's Blood or Papaya Carolina Reaper.
- Salmon and pork tenderloin: a fruit sauce glaze in the last few minutes.
Snacks
- Warm a little sauce in a bowl and dip chips. Warm fruit sauce eats like a salsa.
- Mix into cream cheese or sour cream for a fast party dip.
Dessert
Blueberry Carolina Reaper over vanilla ice cream sounds strange until you try it. One taster at our table called it dessert.
Drinks
Pineapple Mango Habanero makes a spicy margarita: shake 3/4 oz with tequila, lime and triple sec. Our cocktail mixers are made for it, with or without alcohol.

Questions people ask
Can you cook with fruit hot sauce?
Yes. Fruit sauces work as glazes, marinades and braising liquids. Add them near the end on the grill so the sugars caramelize without burning.
Can you put hot sauce on ice cream?
A sweet fruit sauce works well. Blueberry Carolina Reaper over vanilla ice cream is one of our tasting table's favorite suggestions.
Can you put hot sauce in a margarita?
Yes. Shake 3/4 oz of Pineapple Mango Habanero with 2 oz tequila, 1 oz lime juice and 3/4 oz triple sec over ice. Or use one of our non-alcoholic margarita mixers.
Should hot sauce be warmed?
It is not required, but a warmed fruit sauce tastes fuller and works like a salsa for chips.
